PROJECT NudgesDogTreats.com Website Redesign
DURATION 9 months
UX DESIGN SERVICES

Nudges Dog Treats, a jerky treat for dogs made with all-natural ingredients, needed a redesign of their old website to create a place to house updated brand awareness/campaign elements, feature product information to drive purchase, and integrate reviews to inform purchase decisions. As the lead UX designer, my role was to guide and implement user experience design at each step of the process. From discovery to wireframing, user testing and design consultation, I continually emphasized and recommended critical UX design decisions to implement the most usable and easy experience for their audience.

I created the site map and wireframes to help inform the restructuring of the existing site content. The old site was disorganized and confusing, making it difficult to find information easily and efficiently. The new information architecture simplified the content and eliminated unnecessary pages and paths. Creating a clickable wireframe, we were able to identify key content placement and confirm it was placed strategically for users to locate easily.

Since Nudges has numerous products, we created a unique and efficient persistent sub navigation in the product section, to allow users to click between each product, which made the experience streamlined and enjoyable. This helped users avoid a confusing and cumbersome experience.

This subnavigation allows users to browse from product to product without leaving this section or hitting the back button.

In this step, I worked closely with the art director to collaborate on the design. Through regular discussions and collaboration during each design layout, my UX expertise helped ensure that excellent experiences were incorporated into the designs. Once the designs were approved, I created a high-fidelity prototype (a clickable virtual representation of the real site) to prepare for user testing.

Using the high-fidelity prototype created from design layouts, we ran unmoderated, qualitative user testing with pre-defined tasks. This helped identify possibile difficulties, and confirm that the user experience and design was positive and accurate for the audience.
We were able to identify UX issues and make updates and improvements prior to sending the designs to the development team.

The new NudgesDogTreats.com website was an excellent refresh of an old, outdated site. This redesign elevated the brand to allow for better navigation, a fresh updated look and a much clearer user experience.
i’d love to discuss how to incorporate UX intoyour clients’ next website project
